Participants of the Wonder Club programme worked together to create this short film, inspired by the work of Brighton & Hove film pioneer George Albert Smith. The idea emerged from a workshop exploring the “vision scene” – a technique used in early cinema to represent dreams, memories, and hallucinations.
Drawing from Smith’s experiments with techniques such as superimposition and circular framing, participants selected film clips from the Screen Archive South East collection and created their own interpretations of a “vision” in response. The resulting film brings together a series of imagined encounters, combining archival footage with new performances and collective storytelling.

This work was created as part of Wonder Club, a creative programme of workshops for young people at Hove Museum of Creativity led by artist Chahine Fellahi, exploring early film through experimental approaches to photography, film, and image-making. The programme was part of Days of Wonder, a three-year programme exploring film and media heritage in Brighton, curated and produced by videoclub and Corridor Projects in partnership with Brighton & Hove Museums and Screen Archive South East.
